THE KATHMANDU MTB FEST
Published· Events
**Date & time:**November 20, 2015 / 09:30 – November 22, 2015 / 13:00
Welcome to the first Kathmandu Mountain Bike Fest. Being keen mountain bikers ourselves, we dreamt of this festival, a first of its kind international MTB fest in Nepal, to gather riders from all across the region. Why? Very simple – to indulge in a weekend of crazy riding, share tips and tricks, make new friends and enjoy the brotherhood of mountain bikers across borders. You got it – the main point is to have a lot of fun!! Are you a beginner and intimidated by races? Don’t be. We have 2 different categories for participants – elite & open. If you’re confident, go with the elites. You’ll be competing against the cream of the crop. But if you just want to try out your race legs, the open category will have a lot of people coming in just for the heck of it. And of course the beers later.

VENUE
Hattiban is a small hillock on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Standing at 1820 meters, it is a superb spot for mountain biking. It’ll be chilly in November, bring your jackets. We’ve chosen November specifically for the crisp air, great views and dry tracks. Hattiban is already the venue for the national DH championships, but we’re making changes to the track to make it much more exciting and in line with UCI standards. We’re also developing a new XC trail in the area that will definitely test your riding abilities to the max. Himalayan Heights Resort, one of the properties of our partner Everest Summit Lodges, will play host to our food and entertainment needs.
