Nepal Safe & Ready for Tourism

Nepal has opened up for tourism after a gap of almost one and half years of COVID-19 global pandemic. With the release of the new protocol by the Nepal Government on Sept. 23, on-arrival visa is now available to the fully vaccinated tourists. The ease of entry procedures has been received with much positivity by the Nepali and international trade and long-awaited tourists have started trickling into the Himalayan country for trekking, mountaineering and other activities.

Mr. Lars Gunderson, from Kipling Travels in Denmark, a friend of Nepal and someone who has visited the country over 60 times, was in Nepal last week for a monitoring visit. Mr. Gunderson said he did a thorough travel to the east, west and southern parts of Nepal to gauge the safety for tourists in different parts of the country. He said the country is safe and ready to receive tourists.

Mr. Gunderson also said the current moment calls for close collaboration between the Government and the private sector for reestablishment and recovery of tourism. He suggested prioritizing health and safety for tourists and ensuring promptness and clarity in all information disseminated, through proactive measures, for a quick bounce back of the international arrival figures in the coming season.
