Gosainkunda Trek Trail Update

Published· Trail status

Nepal Now, latest facts

This trek was conducted with two travellers from Canada in late Sep 2015. At the point of the trek this is the update. Sing Gompa – hardly any damage and all lodges intact. Cholangpati – lodges down, but repaired and owners ready to take in travellers. Gosainkunda – intact and all lodges fine. Phedi – one lodge operational. Ghopte – all down. Tharepati – all down, but only one temporary lodge operational. Kutumsang – mostly down, and temporary accommodation available. Food & Water is not an issue

The trail is pretty damaged and dangerous between Phedi and Tharepati and not recommended unless a proper evaluation and trail reconstruction is done. It took eight hours to cross a normally four hours route.

ADVISE to TREKKERS – Gosainkunda Trek should be approached from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and back until conditions improve.
