Mr. Sunuwar wins the title in the Asian Mountain Racing Challenge

The first Asian Mountain Racing Challenge, “Sands of ancient glass,” 2015 with the theme of “run the race to build eco-Asian mountain big health” took place at Guizhou Jinsha in Jinsha County, China. More than 30 teams from South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and the mainland and other countries and regions, nearly 20 provinces and cities, more than 300 athletes, coaches and referees Members participated in this competition. The competition was organized by the State Sports General Administration of mountaineering Management Center, Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Guizhou Provincial Sports Bureau, Bijie City People’s Government, Jinsha County People’s Government of Guizhou Province Mountaineering Association, Bijie City Style Press and Publication Bureau and Bijie City Tourism Contractors, Jinsha County Style broadcasting Tourism Bureau.
The opening ceremony was held on 19th September which was attended by Deputy Director of the State Sports General Administration of mountaineering Management Center, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, and other government official from China. Mr. Ang Tsherng Sherpa from Nepal Mountaineering Association was also invited in the event as the Guest of Honor and Mr. Bed Bahadur Sunuwar from Nepal participated in the race. The competition was held for two days (19 and 20 September).
Mr. Sunuwar not only participated in the race, he also became the champion by wining the Male Single’s (52.3 km) race by completing the race in 4 hours 44 minutes.
We would like to congratulate Mr. Bed Bahadur Sunuwar for this achievement and making Nepal proud.
