Bangladeshi tourists account for more than half of Kakarbhitta arrivals

Kakarbhitta entry point recorded the highest number of tourists entries from Bangladesh, accounting for more than half the total arrival numbers reports The Financial Express.

A total of 8,930 tourist arrivals were recorded through the Kakarbhitta check point in 2015 with 5,055 of them being Bangladeshi tourists. It demonstrates a fall in Bangladeshi arrivals through the same check-point by 5 percent compared to figures from 2014. The number was 5,328 in 2014.

This is in keeping with the downward trend in arrival numbers through the entry route in 2015, with overall tourist arrivals down by 10 percent in comparison to 2014 numbers.A total of 9967 tourists arrived via the land route in 2014.

The Kakarbhitta entry route in the east of Nepal is favored by tourists travelling overland from India and Bangladesh.
