Prabal Gurung is a well known name in fashion industry. People who are in the glamour and modeling industry generally have a dream to wear costumes designed by Gurung and walk on the ramp. That is why Nepali celebrities, who were eager to meet designer Prabal Gurung, flocked at Russian Cultural Center on Tuesday. A program: “Prabal Gurung, The Journey from Nepal to New York” was organized as part of the campaign called ‘Ma Movement’ lunched by Banker Anil Shah. In the program, various people from film, modeling and entertainment industry were present. During the program, designer Gurung discussed about Nepali modeling industry, designing and culture.

On the occasion, Gurung also praised the works of Priyanka Karki, Astha Pokhrel, Lahmu Sherpa and others. After the program, actor Priyanka Karki, Miss Nepal Asmi Shrestha, Miss Nepal Earth Roshani Khatri and Samriddhi Rai held talks with the designer. US First Lady Mitchell Obama, Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and others have already worn the costumes designed by Gurung. Designer Gurung who went to the US in 1999 opened his own fashion showroom named ‘PG’ in 2007.
