Bharat Bahadur Bishural, a Nepali professional wrestler dubbed ‘The Himalayan Tiger’, has been appointed an Honorary Tourism Goodwill Ambassador by the Nepal Tourism Board.
Bishural started wrestling in 1992 after receiving his Pro Wrestling licence from New York State Athletic Commissioner. He has performed in 43 nations around the globe as the Himalayan Tiger, and his appointment as the Goodwill Ambassador is hoped to promote Nepal as a tourism destination among his peers and fan following.
His appointment is also a form of recognition of his contribution so far, in positioning Nepal as a tourism destination through dissemination of positive messages about Nepal’s natural and cultural treasures at national and international forums.
Bishural’s tenure as the Tourism Goodwill Ambassador is expected to last for the next two years.
