Intrepid Travel is an Australian based company and is the original arm of Intrepid Group established by Geoffrey Manchester and Darrell Wade in the year 1989. Manchester and Wade wanted to come up with something to aid the travellers explore the world without taking on headache. Intrepid Travel is now a leading global adventure travel company that serves people of every age group with 6 tour operator brands.
At the present context, the major concern of the company is to direct travellers back to Nepal after the April 25 earthquake. The company’s main priority is to ensure the travellers that Nepal is secure and ready to be explored again.
Tourism has dropped down to 50% of last year’s number by the beginning of the major trekking region, from September to November. As per Intrepid’s Namaste Nepal campaign, the profits from Nepal trip during September 2015 and May 2016 will directly go to rebuilding and recovering Nepal.
Intrepid arranges tours in the Annapurna and Everest Trekking regions as well as in tourist hotspots like the tropical city of Pokhara, the ancient capital Kathmandu and Chitwan National Park, a jungle region still full of rare wildlife.
The recent meeting with Kathmandu based NGO – Seven Women highlighted about Nepal’s social, economic and political challenges. Serious issues like limitations for women in Nepal, risks for children living in poverty, and the pervasive ways that caste still plays a role in Nepal’s government and social structure were put forth by Intrepid’s representatives.
According to the staffs at Seven Women, the country is gradually shifting towards better. People are transforming with the pace of time. The country’s culture is also transforming as a result of western influence due to media and the internet. People are switching to small family rather than big nuclear ones and traditional roles of children are changing along with it. Nepalese are being aware about women education and the women literacy rate has also increased gradually. The laws are being reformed for progress of the country.

Intrepid’s commitment to supporting and improving life in its countries encourages these open conversations, and allows guests to learn the realities of the destinations they visit” , says Manchester.
