Israeli desk set up at International Mountain Museum in Pokhara

A new desk exhibiting pictures of agricultural and archaeological importance in Israel has been set up at the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara.

The desk was set up by placing a stone brought from the dead sea of Israel and a stone from Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

Inaugurating the desk, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ananda Pokharel stated that Nepal could learn a lot from Israel in terms of applying technology in agriculture to become self-sufficient. Similarly, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Yaron Mayer, expressed his belief that setting up the desk at the Museum would help promote tourism in Nepal.

He also hoped that Nepal-Israel relations would further strengthen in the days to come.

Existing attractions at the museum include a model of Mt. Manaslu, living museum, photo gallery of mountain communities, wall climbing, souvenir shop and Gorkha village Restaurant.
