Nepal Tourism Board has updated the information regarding mandatory requirement of guides and porters in trekking, permits in Upper Mustang and restriction to travel in Nepal.

The updates confirm that the government has not made any mandatory restrictions regarding accompanied trekking for Free Independent Trekkers (FITs) nor for change in fee structure for Upper Mustang.

These are only under discussion at present. Government of Nepal has made no restrictions to trekking in any area in Nepal and permits are available for all areas. Also, all heritage sites are now officially open for tourists in Kathmandu vallley.
