With the alleyways of Thamel full of shops selling souvenirs, pashmina, cashmere, art, handicrafts and mountaineering equipment, you are sure to bag a bargain.

2. Scenery: Nepal packs in quite a lot for its small size. The fertile plains of Terai, give way to terraced paddy fields, lush jungles and eventually snow-capped mountains as you gain altitude. You can divide Nepal into three kinds of terrain, each offering unique experiences. The Himal (mountains) lends its name to the Himalayas and offer majestic snow-capped peaks, high passes and alpine forests. Ripe for trekking and mountaineering!
