I had to come back to Nepal. I needed to offer whatever assistance I could…since the people of Nepal allowed me, at the ripe old age of 50, to trek to Base Camp Everest on October 13, 2014.   I was devastated to see the destruction and pain of my ‘people’ following the earthquake in April.

I am a Paramedic and a humanitarian at heart so I knew that I was being called by someone higher up…the decision was made.  Now I had to get organized.

Now I had arrived. I was not ready for what I was to see. Even though the people were as warm and friendly as usual. I could see the anguish and pain in their eyes. They were so happy to see me. But where are the tourist? The Nepalese need us!

Additionally I was ready to undertake my two weeks of medical assistance or was I. I couldn’t believe the people who needed help! I was so happy to offer assistance but there is so much more to do.
