Cannot wait to go back to Nepal

I recently spent two wonderful weeks in Nepal and completely fell in love with the place and the people.
There are remains of structures destroyed by the April earthquake but the vast majority of ancient & interesting places seem to be intact & I am glad I got to see things before they are rebuilt. There were very few tourists which made the experience of wandering around even more pleasant and the shopping was amazing. I loved what there was to buy and the prices were surprisingly good. I’m taking a bigger bag next time.
I highly recommend travelling by bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the road winds around hills and through small villages tucked into any available space. The scenery is beautiful.
Pokhara is a real gem, with loads to see and do and many restaurants and bars with live entertainment to keep us from getting to bed early. I can’t wait to go back to Nepal to see and experience things I missed out on this time.
I am a 55 year old Western Australian woman living in China. I arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday 22nd of August and was sad to leave on Friday 4th September. Certainly not enough time, I hope that I can stay for longer next time.
