Intrepid Travel has raised $700,000 for Nepal on the past 12 months through its customers and corporate contributions.
The money was donated by clients of the company, which will be distributed to a number of projects in Nepal like Plan International and WWF among others.
When the earthquake hit Nepal, Inteprid Travel was one of the firsts to respond in announcing its support to Nepal. In the months since, the company has sent several photographers, travel writers, journalists to Nepal, so that they may experience the country themselves and share among the wider audience their thoughts about travelling in Nepal post-quake.
Additionally, Intrepid has also pledged to donate 100% of its profit from the Nepal trips in April/May trekking season.
“The trails are open. The mountains are waiting. The only thing Nepal’s missing now, is you,” reads a statement on their website.
As a ‘Thank You’ to its customers, the company also gifted three customers with a trip to Nepal to witness first hand, how their donations have helped the country rebuild.
