It is the last month of the year 2015, and guess what? This last of something is totally rejuvenating. It is out with the old, and in with the new as winter is officially on its full swing. From cozy and cushy winter to countless year end celebrations, December has a lot in store for us!! The first thing that tops the list is undoubtedly Christmas 🙂
Christmas, the big day, is around the corner and we are all fully prepped for it. With the declaration of Nepal as a secular country in the year 2006, Christmas is now a national holiday in Nepal as well. December is the month where everybody seems more willing to care. People are a little more giving, a little more humane, a little more caring, a little more inclining to smile at strangers on the street or a little more charitable. They are in the spirit of gift- giving and celebrating with family, friends and life, and that just makes people more inclined to be appreciative and thankful.
With Nepal running short of fuel due to political instability, imports were shuttered. As prices were soaring, people got flustered. Watch how these Portal Crew Santa Clauses reach out to hundreds of Nepalese people on this wonderful occasion of Christmas on their bicycles. Pedaling through the streets of Kathmandu on their bicycle, they handed out gifts to people and carried out joy through this beautiful country.
We learn by doing simplest things that we can overcome adversity. May we never lose sight that working together can make things all right. With Christmas spirit on full swing, let us indulge ourselves in giving without the thought of getting. To be plenteous in mercy and to cherish peace and goodwill of others is the true spirit of Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all !!
