Moondance Offering Free Meals to Tourists in Pokhara

For tourists caught in Nepal’s nationwide lockdown, finding a meal can present a challenge. For visitors in Pokhara, the Moondance Restaurant and Bar has come to the rescue with takeaway meals served daily between 12 and 2 PM. Best of all, the meals are free.
During a quick visit today, supervisor Kumar Tamang said they provided 60 meals yesterday and expected to break 90 meals by their 2pm closing time. Although the lockdown is only planned for a week, Tamang said they’re prepared to continue their midday meal program for another 20 days, if necessary.
When I peeked into the kitchen to snap a quick photograph I found an energetic kitchen crew busy filling containers with fresh dal and rice for a group of patrons waiting patiently outside the doors.
