The 17th Pokhara Street Festival was successfully held from 28 December, 2015 to 1 January, 2016 in Lakeside, Pokhara on the eve of the English New Year 2016. Thousands of revelers from all over the world attended the festival this year.

Hosted with the slogan ‘Sadakmai Khau, Sadakmai Nachau, Sadakmai Ramau’, meaning ‘Let’s eat, dance and celebrate on the streets’ the event was more successful than anticipated claimed the organizers.

Nepal Now, the tourism recovery campaign was among the most visible aspects of the festival with ‘I am in Nepal Now’ selfie cards being distributed among festival goers. Most participants were happy to pose for a photograph with the ‘I am in Nepal Now’ cards and shared positive stories of their travels in Nepal.

A group of visitors from Slovenia and UK described Pokhara as their home away from home and another visitor from Malta confessed that she was contributing to Nepal’s tourism recovery campaign by starting a “Friends of Nepal” group back in her country.
