The moment the earthquake struck on that fateful day in April, Nepal’s top MTB riders were on training in the outskirts of Kathmandu. As soon as they realized what had happened, they moved into rescue mode. Being top bikers, no trail was inaccessible to them, and they knew most of the trails already. A rescue of a mother and child on that day from a rubble of a home in a village and numerous relief and rescue runs into communities only accessible via mountain bikes, and the NCRR (Nepali Cyclists Ride to Rescue) was born.

Two of the riders just stood second and third at the 260km grueling 2015 Tour of the Dragon in Bhutan, while the rest of the crew is still working on their dream project, fund raising to rebuild schools, all in between their first love – mountain biking. This video showcases their work till date. Another reason to travel to Nepal is to meet heroes like these.
