The Hidden beauty- Tanseen

Palpa known as the home of the colourful Dhaka, is located in between the two most visited tourist destinations; Pokhara and Lumbni. Lying at the elevation of 1310 meters Tanseen , the headquater of Palpa, is a very charming Hill station which sits perfectly on the chest of the mountain –serene and beautiful. As you make your way up the winded roads and get closer the chilled breeze greets you as if the mountains mean to welcome you. The beautiful hill station is definitely the best place for you to spend your summer vacation.

Another special attribute of Tanseen is it’s one of the few towns outside the capital that has a rich legacy of traditional art and architecture. From the Baggi ‘mul’ dhoka to the durbars and the temples have a historical meaning attached to them and date way back to the 19th century.

Passing through the heated city of Butwal, the cool feeling one receives as soon as they enter the outskirts of Palpa cannot be describe in words. Unlike many other tourist destinations, it is not crowded. The most common places that Tnseen is famous for are; the Tudikhel ground, the karuwa statue, sital pati, the palpa durbar, Rani mahal, the Srinagar dada and Bhairavsthan.

Srinagar dada:

Sringara is the best place to visit for landscape photographers who wish to get a panoramic view of the high Himalayas like; Kanjiroba, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Mansiri, Ganesh and Langtang groups. Like an icing to the cake, it also has a Tower which resembles to a mini Dharahara from where one can see the pine filled forest and the vibrant city of tanseen.

Rani Mahal:

To visit rani Mahal one has the choice of either hiking for 4 hours or reserving a jeep. However, the rainy season might not be the best time to travel there as the roads are covered with red slippery mud. In the 19th century, Khadga Sumsher Rana had built this castle on the banks of Kaligandagi. His youngest wife Tej Kumari Devi requested him to build a palace in her name so that people remember her long after her death. As she had no child, she requested her husband to build a monument of love in her name. The best thing about the palace is that its reflection can be seen in the Kaligandaki river adding more beauty to its already lovely exterior. The forest around the palce is named Ranniban and the banks are also called Ranighat. Travelling to Rani Mahal is sure to leave one happy in the heart and reminiscing about the untold history of Nepal.

Bhairavsthan Temple:

It is built by pratap shumsher rana and is considered to have the biggest trident in all of Asia. With a dash of bliss, the temple will strike as a major religious attribute for the shiva deevotes.
